How It All Started

I started riding about 40 years ago – fascinated by the horse as a sensitive yet strong animal. Riding has always been a great pleasure for me. However, in wet, cold or windy weather the enjoyment quickly turned into a burden: cold legs, a wet seat, slippery, heavy rain gear that eventually became leaky as well. In short: NOT fun, but rather a “chore”.

Why isn't there anything better?

For years, I put up with it and kept asking myself: Why is there no clothing in which I can feel light, free, warm and comfortable? Something that does not press on my shoulders, does not make me sweat or freeze, and does not leave me returning to the stable cold and dissatisfied?

That moment of frustration

One day my patience had simply run out. It just can’t be that there are only heavy raincoats that protect only from above, and skirts that the wind blows up! On top of that, I cannot tolerate any pressure on my neck due to several accidents – and raincoats do exactly that. I need something light and fully flexible, otherwise I’m left with nothing but pain after riding, and that really isn’t any fun.

The search for a solution

Out of this frustration, I began sifting through the market and collecting ideas. The concept of the riding skirt was not bad – it was just not thought through to the end. So I started designing a product that eliminated the drawbacks of a skirt and could be attached both at the back and at the front.

What the material needs to be able to do

Weight was another issue: Why does rainwear have to be so heavy and get in the way when preparing the horse? So I needed a material that is: ultra‑light and comfortable, quiet so the horse is not startled, ABSOLUTELY waterproof, even after hours, thermally insulating, yet breathable, and that provides enjoyment for many years.

The birth of EquiDry

After several years of testing, refining and experimenting with different fabrics, the moment finally came: The MONSOVERA EquiDry was born! Since then I once again enjoy riding on cold and wet days. Fewer passers‑by, less stress — simply enjoying nature and the horse!

For the horse too

For rain‑sensitive horses, I have developed a solution as well: Our system can be combined with or without a kidney pad – completely according to need.

Why I founded MONSOVERA

Originally I developed the product for myself so I would no longer have to suffer. Today I no longer want to keep it to myself, because my goal is to make as many riders as possible happy. My customers’ satisfaction is my top priority. COMFORT for everyone!
